Second annual Deere Farms Celebrate the Farmer Festival and Tractor Parade

The second annual Deere Farms Celebrate the Farmer Festival and Tractor Parade will feature a pumpkin pie eating contest, antiques, John Deere plow-in, a giant pumpkin weigh-in contest, pig races, Deere Farms' Corn Maze, a pumpkin patch, horse-drawn carriage rides, tire rolling contest, bounce house and a 25 mile tractor parade. Celebrate the Farmer festivities take place at Deere Farms from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Fall foliage beauty unveiled in Historic Corydon, Indiana - Online Leaf Cam lets visitors watch as fall foliage unfolds

Bengal Tiger Exhibit at Deere Farms

Deere Farms has teamed up with Wildlife In Need from Charlestown, Indiana to bring Exotic Bengal Tigers to Deere Farms to see up close. All Tigers are on the Endangered Species List, but White Bengals are extremely rare. To support the high cost of feeding over 40 exotic cats and bears living in refuge at Wildlife in Need, we are giving the community an opportunity to get your picture taken with a Bengal Tiger kitten born in July 2010, for a donation to Wildlife In Need.

The Cats will be on Display at Deere Farms:
September 25 - Saturday afternoons from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 - Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 - Sundays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The Corydon Jamboree Saturday Night Music Show Featuring Amber Martin and Lloyd Wood - Sep. 25

You may enter the show a stranger, but you will leave as a friend. The Corydon Jamboree is fine family entertainment. You will enjoy country to gospel music, clogging to comedy, traditional and contemporary musicians, and some of the most popular established and up-and-coming entertainers in the region. This Saturday's entertainment is by Amber Martin and Lloyd Wood.

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" on Stage at Hayswood Theatre

Based on the 1988 film, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" centers on two competing con men living on the French Riviera. At first, the suave and experienced Lawrence Jameson takes the rookie con man, Freddy, under his wing. But soon, Freddy tries to compete directly with Lawrence. The competition comes to a peak when they agree that the first con man to extract $50,000 from the female heiress, Christine Colgate, wins and the other must leave town forever.

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" will be on stage at Hayswood Theatre September 17 through October 3. Show times are 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+) and $10 for students (17 and under).

Colokial to host the last Flavors of the World for the year

U.S. Scale Masters Championships

The U.S. Scale Masters Championships, U.S. Championships for radio controlled scale aircraft, will take place this weekend, Friday, September 17 through Sunday, September 19. The aircraft will be fully detailed replicas of real airplanes. Static displays and flying demonstrations of the aircraft will be featured. This event will take place at 11480 Hwy. 111 in Elizabeth. Deere Farms 2010 Season Opens this Weekend

Deere Farms, Lanesville, will open their corn maze to the public this Saturday, September 11 at 3 p.m. All other farm activities will open this Sunday, September 12 at noon. This year’s activities include corn and straw maze, carriage rides, pumpkin patch, haunted maze and woods, tractor display, pony carousel and much more. Deere Farms has teamed up with Wildlife In Need to bring exotic Bengal Tigers to the menu of activities this year. Kids will be able to pose for a professional photograph with the cats (for a fee) during selected dates between September 18 and October 31. Last Friday Night Summer Concert of the 2010 Season, this Friday

The last Friday Night Summer Concert of the 2010 season will be this Friday, Saturday 3 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be by Dennis Hill and JP Mattingly of Wapituli.

The Friday Night Summer Band Concerts are free community concerts held Friday evenings Memorial Day through Labor Day at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets for personal seating. Food services are provided by different non-profit groups each week beginning at 6 p.m. Concerts are held outdoors on the Hurley D. Conrad Memorial Bandstand and are subject to the rules and regulations of the Corydon Capitol State Historic Site. Concerts may be canceled due to dangerous weather.
