Many October Events in Historic Corydon, Harrison County

Hayswood’s Haunted Theatre - Oct. 15 - 30 : Hayswood Theatre will turn its stage into a haunted theatre on October 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30. Tickets for the haunted theatre are $5.00 a person and are only available at the door. The haunted theatre opens at 6:30 p.m. with consecutive tours beginning at 7 p.m. and concluding at 11 p.m.

Old Capitol Antique Car Fest - Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. : The Historic Corydon Square will be filled with antique cars, trucks and motorcycles twenty-five years and older in unmodified condition. For more information call 738-3882.

Halloween Fest at Buffalo Trace - Oct. 23 & 24 : Halloween trick-or-treating, camp site decoration contest and pumpkin carving. For more information call 364-6112. Buffalo Trace Park is located at 1540 Hwy. 150 in Palmyra.

76th Annual Halloween Parade - Oct. 23, 6 p.m. : This year marks the 76th consecutive running year for Corydon’s annual Halloween Parade on Capital Avenue; making this one of the longest running parades in the country. A costume contest will be held on the Hurley D. Conrad Memorial Bandstand at 4 p.m. The contest is open to all ages. For more information call 738-4890.

Dulcimer Society’s Traditional Music Festival - Oct. 29 & 30 : O'Bannon Woods State Park. Activities for the weekend will include the dulcimer concert, workshops, crafts, a chili cook-off, pumpkin carving, hay rides, a presentation on bird watching, trick-or-treating, and a campsite decorating contest. Fall Music Festivals at the Wineries : Pack a picnic basket, grab that special someone and head on out to Best Vineyards Winery and Turtle Run Winery for music, fun and relaxation. Best Vineyards Winery will continue their series of free concerts through October 23. The concerts will take place on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 6 p.m., rain or shine. Turtle Run Winery, located at 940 St. Peters Church Road in Corydon, will host their fall concerts on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. through October.
